CJ Ryan, Contributing Editor

CJ Ryan is a Ph.D. student at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. He received an A.B. from Dartmouth College, a M.Ed. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and a J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He was appointed by Kentucky Governor Steven L. Beshear to serve a one-year term on the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. He is a former attorney, university development director, legislative policy analyst, high school educator, and coach. He enjoys live music, college sports, half-marathons, and making good and bad hard cider. His research interests involve the intersection between higher education and law, and he is particualrly interested in: academic freedom; faculty composition and remuneration; university trusts and endowments; and legal education, broadly. His scholarly articles have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and law reviews published by the University of Notre Dame, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Richmond.
